Workers Hotline on treatment of Palestinian workers after work accidents

Over the past two years, Kav LaOved( Workers’ Hotline) has received complaints of Palestinian workers employed in Israeli  settlements, regarding the way they were evacuated from the workplace following work-related accidents.

In a report issued last week the Israeli NGO provides seven case studies and explains that they demonstrate unacceptable treatment in the evacuation of injured workers.

Some of them claimed compensation for medical expenses from the Israeli National Insurance Institute (NII), while others preferred to turn to a private lawyer and sue through the courts, the Kav LaOved (Workers’ Hotline) report explains.

Kav LaOved (Workers’ Hotline) is a nonprofit non governmental organization committed to protecting the rights of disadvantaged workers employed in Israel and by Israelis in the Occupied Territories, including Palestinians, migrant workers, subcontracted workers and new immigrants.

Kav LaOved is committed to principles of democracy, equality and international law concerning human and social rights.
