Israeli railway workers win big pay rise and a bonus

According to this report on the website of the International Transport Workers Federation (ITF), Israeli railway workers – like the nurses – have won big gains recently.

The global union federation, which represents 4.5 million transport workers in over 700 trade unions in 154 countries, reports that “The ITF-affiliated transport workers’ division of Histadrut and the railway employees’ committee signed a collective agreement on 7 December, which will see workers receive a bonus of NIS12,000 (US$3,133) and a 20 per cent wage rise.”  There is more information on the website of the Histadrut, in English.
